In 2011 the Castro Street Fair raised over $85,000 for local non-profits. We are now accepting applications from organizations interested in becoming a beneficiary of the 2012 Castro Street Fair. To be considered your organization must be a valid 501(c)3 and provide support and services to the local San Francisco community. A letter of interest should be emailed to volunteer@castrostreetfair.org along with the following information:
- Proof of your 501(c)3 status (not necessary if you were a beneficiary in 2011)
- Information about your organization and the types of service and support you provide to the community.
- The number of volunteers you could provide on the day of the Fair.
Proceeds from the Castro Street Fair are shared with our beneficiaries. Benefiting organizations provide volunteers to assist with various Fair operations – primarily collecting donations at our entry gates. An organization’s share of the proceeds is based on the number of volunteer hours worked. Volunteers work in shifts from 3 AM to 7 PM on the day of the Fair, which is always the first Sunday in October.
